Westbrook Lobster

The Westbrook Lobster "Tail"...

In 1963 Westbrook Lobster opened as a specialized lobster & seafood market along the famous "Singing Bridge" in Westbrook, Connecticut.  The market expanded its retail selection to offer a comprehensive range of fish, shrimp and prepared foods as well as the addition of a wholesale division selling fresh seafood & lobster to local restaurants, bed & breakfasts, inns, health care facilities, and supermarkets.

In 1989, Larry & Joanne Lariviere, along with their two sons, Michael & Matthew, and daughter, Kathy Jo, purchased Westbrook Lobster.  Larry, with his background in business as former Vice President of Ames Department Stores and his experiences growing up around seafood restaurants in New Bedford, Massachusetts, began to plan his dream of running a seafood restaurant.

Fast forward to 1995...Westbrook Lobster re-located two miles down on Route 1 in Clinton in order to expand and open a seafood restaurant. In a highly competitive market, Westbrook Lobster has carved out its own niche and has gone from "the Shoreline's hidden gem" to "the Best Seafood Restaurant in Connecticut."

In December of 2004, Westbrook Lobster opened its second location in the historic Yale Brothers Mill in the Yalesville section of Wallingford which includes an outdoor dining area along the Quinnipiac River.

Today, sons Michael & Matthew continue the family tradition by running the day to day operations and letting Larry spend most of his time with his wife, grand children, and golf clubs.
